L’associazione Medaglie d’Oro è un’associazione Benemerita di Interesse Sportivo, riconosciuta dal CONI, che unisce e rappresenta in Italia e nel mondo tutti i più grandi atleti che il nostro Paese annovera fra i massimi protagonisti dello Sport: aderiscono all’associazione oltre 2.000 campioni olimpici, campioni mondiali e primatisti mondiali.

The Gold Medals Association is a Meritorious Association of Sport Interest, officially recognized by C.O.N.I. (Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano). The Association counts and represents all the most famous athletes that play a leading role in the sports field of both our country and the rest of the world. The Association can count among its more than 2,000 members, Olympic champions, world champions and world record holders.

L’associazione Medaglie d’Oro ha come obiettivi primari la diffusione della pratica sportiva tra i giovani e la promozione dei principi e degli ideali del sano spirito agonistico come valori condivisi dalla collettività. Spirito di squadra, fairplay, correttezza, lealtà, coraggio, disciplina, spirito di sacrificio, determinazione, rispetto delle regole e dell'avversario, impegno e passione: questi i principi che le Medaglie d’Oro, attraverso la loro testimonianza diretta e il loro costante impegno, si propongono di veicolare come modelli di riferimento per la società e, in particolare, per i giovani. Ma le finalità dell’attività delle Medaglie d’Oro vanno oltre, coinvolgendo anche il patrimonio storico culturale italiano. Infatti l’associazione, che raggruppa i più grandi campioni sportivi di tutti i tempi, si pone come promotore principale per la tutela e la divulgazione della storia dello sport italiano, di cui i campioni sono l’esempio reale, affinché le grandi imprese e il nostro patrimonio sportivo non vengano dimenticati ma siano, prima di tutto, una risorsa in grado di rappresentare l’Italia nel mondo.
Infine, l’associazione Medaglie d’Oro è in prima linea nello sviluppo e nel sostegno di iniziative di solidarietà verso gli atleti meno abbienti.

The Medaglie d'Oro Association has as its main objectives the spread of sports among young people and the promotion of the principles and ideals of a healthy competitive spirit as values shared by the community. Team spirit, fair play, honesty, loyalty, courage, discipline, spirit of sacrifice, determination, respect for rules and the opponent, commitment and passion: these are the principles that the Medaglie d'Oro Association, through their direct testimony and their constant commitment, aim to convey as role models for society and, in particular, for young people. However, the goals of the activities of the Medaglie d'Oro go beyond this and also involve the Italian cultural heritage. In fact the Association, which brings together the greatest sports champions of all time, stands as the main promoter for the protection and spread of the history of Italian sport, of which samples the champions are living proof, so that big businesses and our sporting heritage are not forgotten but are, above all, a resource can represent Italy in the world.
Finally, the Medaglie d'Oro Association is at the forefront in developing and supporting initiatives of solidarity with the athletes that are least fortunate.

L’attività delle Medaglie d’Oro, caratterizzata da un costante impegno a fianco delle famiglie, delle scuole e delle istituzioni, si sviluppa in una serie di aree d’intervento che, di volta in volta, vengono identificate in base alle esigenze dei soggetti di riferimento.
Nello specifico:

1. Organizzazione di convegni, convivi e dibattiti dedicati allo sport e, in particolare, alla storia dello sport italiano per salvaguardarne la tradizione, condividerne i valori e tutelare il patrimonio culturale collettivo
2. Progettazione e realizzazione di iniziative di carattere educativo e formativo rivolte ai più giovani.
3. Gestione di un fondo di solidarietà per gli atleti meno abbienti
4. Definizione e realizzazione di progetti editoriali destinati a promuovere l’attività dell’associazione verso il pubblico, mettendo in relazione l’associazione Medaglie d’Oro con le singole delegazioni presenti sul territorio italiano.

Inoltre, affinché i valori e il patrimonio di cui le Medaglie d’Oro sono portavoce possano essere condivisi non solo con i tifosi e gli sportivi ma con un pubblico quanto più ampio possibile, l’associazione definisce e realizza progetti di comunicazione integrata che vedono i campioni e i loro sostenitori protagonisti di iniziative di alto profilo culturale, come eventi istituzionali e iniziative educational, e attività dedicate in ambito media e web attraverso lo sviluppo di produzioni televisive e di un sito web dedicato.

The activities of the Medaglie d'Oro Association, characterized by a constant commitment to the families, the schools and institutions, develops in a number of intervention areas that, in turn, are identified depending on the needs of the reference subjects.
Specifically:

1. Organization of conferences, banquets and debates dedicated to sport and, in particular, to the history of Italian sport in order to preserve its tradition, share its values and protect the common cultural heritage
2. Design and implementation of educational and training initiatives aimed at the young
3. Management of a solidarity fund for the least fortunate athletes
4. Definition and execution of editorial projects designed to promote the activities of the association to the public, linking the Medaglie d'Oro Association with the individual delegations present on Italian territory.

Furthermore, for the values and the heritage of which the Medaglie d'Oro (Gold Medals) are spokesmen of, can be shared not only with the fans and the sports enthusiasts, but also with an audience as broad as possible. The Association defines and carries out integrated communication projects that see the champions and their supporters protagonists of high-profile cultural initiatives, such as corporate events, educational initiatives, and activities dedicated to the media-field and web, through the development of television productions and a website dedicated to the these events.

L’associazione Medaglie d’Oro ritiene che investire risorse sui giovani sia il punto di partenza fondamentale per diffondere i valori rappresentati dallo sport e trasmettere dei modelli di riferimento positivi. In questo senso, l’associazione guarda alla scuola come a una grande fucina, in grado di produrre una numerosa schiera di possibili “eredi” dello sport italiano. È a partire da questa idea che le Medaglie d’Oro al Valore Atletico, si avvicinano a essa e alle sue potenzialità, con una frequenza sempre maggiore. In particolare, l’attività delle Medaglie d’Oro nei confronti dei giovani è orientata a sensibilizzare le nuove generazioni verso tutte le specialità sportive, rappresentate dai campioni, con una particolare attenzione anche ai cosiddetti sport “minori”, che non hanno visibilità sui media, ma che fanno parte, a tutti gli effetti, non solo del patrimonio sportivo italiano, ma soprattutto della cultura del nostro Paese. È con questo spirito che nel corso dell’anno le Medaglie d’Oro, in collaborazione con le singole delegazioni dell’associazione, supportano attivamente le principali manifestazioni sportive in cui la scuola e le istituzioni giovanili sono coinvolte (Trofei Interscolastici di Milano, Comitato Italiano Paralimpico etc.). Inoltre, l’associazione Medaglie d’Oro organizza ogni anno numerosi convegni culturali all’interno delle scuole e delle università ed è protagonista di una serie di eventi istituzionali per premiare i giovani campioni dell’anno. Ogni iniziativa vede la presenza diretta degli atleti campioni che, con il loro vissuto e i loro sacrifici coronati da incancellabili successi, sono in grado di trasmettere alle nuove generazioni dei validi modelli a cui ispirarsi.

The Association believes that investing resources on young people is the fundamental starting point to spreading the values represented by sports and transmit positive role models.In this sense, the Association looks to schools as a great breeding ground that can produce a great number of possible "heirs" of Italian sport. It is from this idea that the Gold Medals for Athletic Value, approach it and its potential with increasing frequency. In particular, the activities of the Medaglie d'Oro with young people are aimed at raising the younger generation to all sports events, represented by the champions, with particular attention to the so-called "minor" sports , which have no visibility in the media but belong, in every way, not only to the Italian sports heritage, but also to the culture of our country. It is with this spirit that throughout the year the Medaglie d'Oro, in collaboration with the individual delegations of the Association, actively support major sporting events in which schools and youth institutions are involved (Trofei Interscolastici di Milano, Comitato Italiano Paralimpico etc.). The Association also organizes several cultural events each year in schools and universities and is the protagonist of a series of institutional events to reward the young champions of the year. Each initiative involves the direct presence of athletic champions who, with their life-experience and their sacrifices crowned with indelible success, are able to transmit to the new generations inspiring role models to look up to.

Unica associazione rappresentante più di 2.000 campioni olimpici, campioni mondiali e primatisti mondiali, l’associazione Medaglie d’Oro ha sentito l’esigenza di raccogliere in un grande volume le storie, le esperienze e i successi dei più grandi campioni di tutti i tempi in una grande pubblicazione che “nel tempo e nella storia” riporta alla luce i momenti di gloria, non solo degli sportivi ma dell’Italia stessa. L’opera, giunta alla terza edizione, raccoglie tutte le vicende sportive delle Medaglie d’Oro nel corso del ventesimo secolo ed è frutto di lunghe, meticolose e appassionate ricerche. Un testo che certamente costituirà una valida testimonianza nel tempo, un punto fermo nella cultura sportiva italiana, oltre che uno strumento di consultazione per tutti.

The only association representing more than 2,000 Olympic champions, world champions and world record holders, the Medaglie d'Oro Association has felt the need to gather in a big book the stories, experiences and successes of the greatest champions of all time in a major publication that "in time and history" brings to light the moments of glory, not only of the athletes but of Italy itself. The work, now at its third edition, describes all the sporting events of the Medaglie d'Oro throughout the twentieth century and is the result of long, passionate and meticulous research. A text that will certainly be an effective witness in time, a fixed point in the Italian sports culture, as well as a valuable reference for everyone.
